You know, the stuff WH40K excel at. It's funny, I have gone right off the whole medieval thing in my RPing in favor or S&S, mostly because the medieval facets that leap to the fore in D&D are (for me) all the weak-ass stuff. You've reminded me how much i actually love this rich, image-saturated period of history. For that I thank you.

PS: "Suelucidar" - priceless.

And your elves are perfect.charles mark fergusonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13385121479729236749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4986545310967925199.post-45932945170466017542010-03-07T11:31:42.515-08:002010-03-07T11:31:42.515-08:00Chello!

I determined a couple of years ago, that if you go "By the Book" with level restrictions, healing spells, healing times, etc., AD&D can be quite gritty. Very gritty. Even downright deadly. :)Anthony N. Maybe something like Call of Cthulu has.

The 2nd edition Players Option book Spells & Magic had several alternate magic systems, including a very Cthulhoid/Lovecraftian "cosmic horror" approach that put spell-casters' sanity and souls in mortal peril. If I remember correctly, the risks grew progressively greater as spell levels grew higher.David Larkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04133630988557116729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4986545310967925199.post-55720157892719982362009-12-14T11:40:57.115-08:002009-12-14T11:40:57.115-08:00Excellent post.Excellent post.Matthew Slepinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04056247825064943944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4986545310967925199.post-37558032426040228022009-12-14T09:11:01.064-08:002009-12-14T09:11:01.064-08:00Interesting spin. :D
